 Inclusive Education

 

  • Introductory seminar for inclusive education was held in Uhana organized by the Ministry of Education.

  • A workshop was organized by the Zonal Director of Education , Akkaraipattu to implement  the inclusive education in schools.

  • A session on the content and implementation of inclusive education was conducted in the auditorium of the Ministry of Education Colombo.

  • A discussion on inclusive education project 2023 was organized by the ZDE office headed by Zonal Director of Education.

  • TOT workshop was held in ZDE office auditorium with the participation of Zonal Director of Education and principles on 04th September 2022.

 

 

01.  Enrollment of grade one students within the School boundaries from grade one to thirteen.

 02.  All types of students are learning in the same class.

 03.  Gifted students and the children with special needs learning in the same class.

 04.  Conducting awareness programs for teachers with external resources.

 

Compulsory Education

 

 01.  Collecting Information regarding school drop out.

 02.  If school drop outs prevail, educate the families.

 03.  There is no evident of school drop out in AMLC.

 

Improving English Language Learning

 

 01. Creating an English language environment

  • Allocating a spoken English period in the class time table.
  • Conducting weekly English Only Day. It was started on 10th February 2020.

 

 02. Encourage students to read books in English Language.

  • Read To Me application was introduced .
  • Reading corners are inaugurated in grade six classes On 4th Aug 2022.

 

  03.  Promoting Co-curricular and extra curricular activities in school.

  • Field trips to religious important and historical important places.
  • English camps :- An English camp was organized in South Eastern University of Sri Lanka on 18th August 2023 for grade 10D students.
  • English Language Promotional Committee was formed on 7th February 2020.
  • English Literary Association was formed on 18th Aug 2022. ( It is planned to conduct the meeting at the end of the term. It was  held on 18th August 2022).
  • English Festival was celebrated on 25th December 2021.

Students Safety

 

 ♦ Establishment and implementation of School Safety Committee.

 ♦ Established the supervisory committee for daily teacher duties since 2019.

 ♦ A discussion regarding the appointment of traffic police officers at the beginning and end of school hours in the front and back lanes of the school was held on 12th December 2012 from 4.30 to 6.30 in the Municipal Council Auditorium headed by the Mayor.

 ♦ A discussion regarding students’ arrival and departure from school was held in Municipal Council Auditorium from 10.00am to 12.00 pm under the leadership of OIC , Akkaraipattu.

 ♦ A session on special classes was held in the auditorium of the Divisional Secretary under the chairmanship of the Divisional Secretary on 19thJuly 2023.

 ♦ Spiritual guidance program for the students was held on 30th May 2022 at 10.30 am in Zonal Education Office, Akkaraipattu.

 ♦ Educational and career guidance seminar was scheduled to be conducted on 27th September 2022 from 8.30 – 5.30 at the Auditorium of Zonal Office, Akkaraipattu.

 ♦ Maintain the records of students who drop out of school.

 ♦ Providing balanced diet with essential nutrients.

 ♦ Daily dental hygiene service from 8.30 to 12.30.

 ♦ Provide iron tablets to grade 4 ,7 ,10 and 11 yearly and check the BMI.

 ♦ Forming and implementing activities through eco – club and Dengue prevention committee.

 

Professional Teacher Development

 

  • Implemented School Based Professional Teacher Development ( SBPTD).
  • Provide opportunities to use ICT in teaching.
